Trakošćan is a romantic, fairytale-like castle in Hrvatsko Zagorje, near Varazdin with almost 800 years of history. It used to be a part of the defense system for north-western Croatia and later turned into one of the most beautiful castles in the 19th century. We will visit the castle to see the valuable collection of paintings, furniture, weapons, and priceless objects representing the life of the nobility and the Draskovic family in Trakoscan. You can even play the early 19th century piano in the music salon. Next is Varazdin, where our private local guide will show us a remarkably diverse and rich cultural heritage of the old town. Varazdin is a city museum, most famous for beautiful Baroque palaces, churches, monasteries, and one of the oldest town halls in Europe.
DAY 1 – Optional Nm 2: Northern Croatia, Kumrovec Ethno village with dinner
Have you ever wondered where Marshal Tito, a former Yugoslavian president, and a communist leader, was born and spend his childhood? Then you shall be surprised when we visit Kumrovec, now an Ethno village, sitting in the heart of Croatian Northern countryside, a region called Zagorje. After visiting this open-air museum, we will drive through the rolling hills, to reach a local tavern, famous for delicious local cuisine, where we will enjoy our dinner. Make sure you come hungry!

The green forests of Plitvice Lakes National Park give way to pebble-dashed shores lapped by turquoise waters. The hike will last approx. 3,5 hours.
DAY 2 – Optional Nm 4: Slovenia with the capital of Ljubljana and an alpine town of Bled (full day)

Ljubljana is a city that will exceed your expectations. It is unique – small by surface area, but huge in terms of hospitality and quality of life. Guided city tour features Plecnik’s Triple bridge, baroque St. Nicholas Cathedral, Renaissance City hall, and Art Nouveau street. After Ljubljana, we drive to Postojna, where the queen of the caves is. The number one visited attraction in Slovenia is the Queen of the caves – Postojna cave.
