To visit the most famous National park in Croatia, choose this beautiful experience in nature. Zig-zagging timber footbridges will lead you through the blue-green beauty of Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The green forests of Plitvice Lakes National Park give way to pebble-dashed shores lapped by turquoise waters. This is a scenic wonderland of 16 interconnected lakes, flanked by waterfalls and primeval forest. The hike lasts approx. 3 hours.
Must-see attractions in Zagorje; Trakoscan castle and town of Varazdin (half day)
Trakoscan is a romantic, fairytale-like castle in Hrvatsko Zagorje with almost 800 years of history. Today it offers a well-presented museum representing the life of the nobility and an attractive English-style park with exotic trees and an artificial lake. It used to be a part of the defense system for north-western Croatia and later turned into one of the most beautiful castles in the 19th century.
Varazdin, a showcase of baroque architecture, is where our private local guide shows us a remarkably diverse and rich cultural heritage of the old town. Varazdin used to be Croatia’s capital and most prosperous center. Now a city museum, with one of the oldest town halls in Europe, is most famous for the extraordinary refinement of its 18th-century buildings in pedestrian zone inviting for a stroll.
Northern Croatia, Kumrovec Ethno village with traditional countryside dinner (half day)
Do you want to feast on hearty cuisine at a rustic restaurant and get a taste of village life? Then this tour is perfect for you. But, there is more! Have you ever wondered where Marshal Tito, a former Yugoslavian president, and a communist leader, was born and spend his childhood?
Then you shall be surprised when we visit Kumrovec, now an Ethno village, transformed into an open-air ethnographic museum, a re-creation of a 19th-century village. After Kumrovec, we drive through the rolling hills, to reach a local tavern, famous for delicious local cuisine, where we will enjoy our dinner. Make sure you come hungry!
Day trip from Zagreb to Slovenia; The capital of Ljubljana and Lake Bled (full day)
Lonely Planet stated: “Ljubljana, Slovenia’s biggest city, happens to be one of Europe’s greenest and most livable capitals.” Accompanied by a private local guide, you will see Ljubljana’s best features like Plecnik’s Triple bridge, baroque St. Nicholas Cathedral, Renaissance City hall, and Art Nouveau street. The city’s vibe is amazing!
Then, to Bled, Slovenia’s most popular resort! Choose the attractions you wish to visit in Bled; perhaps ascend to the medieval Bled castle or enjoy a peaceful boat ride to the island of Bled to visit the church with a wishing bell. Day trip from Zagreb to Slovenia; The capital of Ljubljana and Postojna cave (full day)
Ljubljana is a city that will exceed your expectations. It is unique – small by surface area, but huge in terms of hospitality and quality of life. It was the European Commission's Green Capital of Europe in 2016, the first and only green oasis in central and southeastern Europe. Private city tour features Plecnik’s Triple bridge, baroque St. Nicholas Cathedral, Renaissance City hall, and Art Nouveau street.
Then, to Postojna cave, The Queen of the caves! It is the number one visited attraction in Slovenia. The train takes you to the Great Mountain cavern where a guide escorts you on foot through tunnels, halls, galleries, and caverns, decorated with a vast array of stalactites shaped like needles, enormous icicles, and even fragile spaghetti. Cross the Russian Bridge, walk through the Winter Hall, the Concert Hall and end your cave exploration with a stop at the human fish aquarium.
